Doreen May Wallace
Doreen May Wallace of Bridgeview Hall and formerly of Newcastle, wife of the late Robert J (Bob) Wallace, passed away on January 11, 2022 at the age of 95. Born in Gaspe, PQ she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Irene (Miller) Eden.
In earlier years Doreen was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross, especially the blood donor clinics. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star until her declining health. She was an excellent cook, master of the sewing machine and a whiz with the knitting needles.
She is survived by her son: Bruce Wallace (Margie) of Miramichi; daughter: Barbara Bell (David) of Sudbury, ON; grandchildren: Maureen Wallace, Elizabeth Wallace (Marshall O’ Shea), Robert Bell (Marnie), Wendy Griffin (Michael) and great grandchildren Emmet and Axel Wallace O’Shea, Graham Bell, Paige and Drew Griffin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband: Bob, Doreen is predeceased by: infant son: Donald E Wallace, grand-daughter: Laura Wallace, brother: Harris Eden and sister: Kathleen Firlotte.
Due to Covid-19, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A public graveside service will be held from Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bridgeview Hall for their care.
