Joan Marie Ward
1958 – 2021

Joan Marie Ward of Curventon, NB, wife of Joseph “Joe Tony” Ward passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the age of 62. Born in Newcastle, NB, the daughter of the late Noel and Susan (Jerome) Simon.

Joan is survived by her husband: Joe Tony; sons: Jonathan Ward and Malcolm Ward (Eileen Martin-Ward); grandchildren: Jada Levi-Ward, Jannah Levi-Ward, Melodie Ward, Alexis Ward and River Ward; siblings: Diane Jerome (Art St. Cyr), Roderick Simon (Rita), Carl Noel Simon (Arlene), Harvey Simon, Gloria Ann Simon; brother in law: Joe Crossman; nephews and nieces: Arthur Simon (Jennifer), Walter Jerome, Cyrus Dewitt, Tobi Dunfield, Kolby Simonson, Aaron Simon, Reece Simon, Jonah Simon, Sierra Simon and Katherina Paul.

Besides her parents: Noel and Susan, Joan is predeceased by sister: Ann Darlene Crossman.

Visitation will be held from Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM and on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Red Bank on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Father Dan Melanson officiating. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.

Please note: All attendees must provide proof of vaccination upon arrival at both the funeral home and at the church, as well as mandatory mask and physical distancing in all indoor spaces.
