Wilfred Isaac Ward
1935-2021

Wilfred Isaac Ward, husband of Shirley (Francis) Ward of Metepenagiag, NB, passed away at Barry Court, Miramichi on Sunday, February 28th, 2021 at the age of 86. Born in Metepenagiag, NB, Wilfred is the son of the late Frank and Jane (Simon) Ward.
Wilfred was a past council member, former police officer and fisheries warden in Metepenagiag. He was also a hunting and fishing guide as well as a lumberjack. Wilfred was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
Wilfred is survived by his wife: Shirley (Francis) Ward of Metepenagiag, NB; two daughters: Mary Francine Francis of Metepenagiag, NB as well as Jennifer Rose Black of Metepenagiag, NB; one son: Wilfred Christopher Ward (Heather Peterson) of Metepenagiag, NB; two brothers: Percy Ward (Lorraine) of Natoaganeg, NB as well as Ricky Ward (Abby) of Elsipogtog, NB. Wilfred is also survived by his stepmother: Dorothy Ward of Metepenagiag, NB.
Wilfred is predeceased by his parents: Frank and Jane (Simon) Ward; five sisters: Christine, Irene, Veronica, Rosie and Mary; three brothers: Albert, Frank and Norman as well as son-in-law: Ken Black.
A public visitation will be held at Meadows Funeral Home, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, on Wednesday, March 3rd from 2-6 PM. Due to Covid 19, A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank on Thursday, March 4th with Father Dan Melanson officiating. Burial will take place in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, in Wilfred’s memory, donations may be made to the Diabetic Association or Alzheimer’s Society.
