Ann Blackmore, of Cassilis, widow of Joseph Blackmore passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 72. Born in Lower Derby, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Willa Mae (Tozer) O’Donnell.
Ann will always be remembered as a hard worker and successful entrepreneur; owning both Ann’s Take Out and Ann’s Homestyle Restaurant in Miramichi. She loved outdoor activities; snowshoeing, walking, skiing, swimming and camping. Ann also had a love for music, and in later years became a fiddler and joined the Miramichi Fiddlers. She loved music jams, especially at the County Music Opry with sisters Betty and Lillian, nephew Mike and mother-in-law Margaret Blackmore, along with many other close family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Deborah Blackmore of Fredericton, NB, son Robert (aka Bobby) Blackmore of Halifax, NS, and daughter Freida (Jason) of South Esk, NB; sisters Mary Kerr and Lillian Blair of Toronto, ON; grandchildren Ashley Kinney (Ryan) of Calgary, AB, Kyle Blackmore (Kyle) of Victoria, BC, Kevin Harris of Sunny Corner, NB, and Lexi Harris (Dilan) of Eel Ground, NB; great grandchildren James and William of Miramichi, NB and Sloan of Calgary, AB; sister in laws, Peggy Matchett, Sherry Blackmore, and Margo O’Donnell; brother in laws Vernon Blackmore (Sharon), Ed Blackmore (Trisha), Scott Blackmore (Paula); and several nieces and nephews.
Ann is predeceased by two sisters, Pat O’Donnell, Betty O’Donnell (Mullin); brother Vincent Sterling O’Donnell, and infant brother, Benjamin Sterling O’Donnell.
A public graveside committal service will be held from St. Stephen’s United Church Cemetery, Red Bank, NB on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10 AM with Rev. Geza Szemök officiating.
