Joan Gertrude (Dutcher) Blacquier
1936-2020
Joan Gertrude (Dutcher) Blacquier, of Paradise Villa, formerly of Nelson-Miramichi, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday July 29, 2020 at the age of 84. Born in Newcastle, NB, Joan was the daughter of the late William (Red) Robert and Gertrude (Comfort) Dutcher.
Joan was the Regional Director for CUPE (NB and PEI).
Joan is survived by four daughters: Glendine McKeil, Barbara Ann Blacquier, Brenda Lee Ann Trabouslee (David), all of Fredericton, NB, as well as Heather Dawn McLaughlin (Allan) of Nova Scotia; two sons: Gary Douglas Blacquier (Rose Pate) of Burton, NB, as well as John Joseph Blacquier of Fredericton, NB; three sisters: Marjorie Colton, Sadie Craig (Billy) as well as Carol Fleiger (Harold), all of Miramichi, NB; one brother: George Dutcher (Sharon) of Miramichi, NB; nine grandchildren: Kyle Trabouslee (Kara), Jenna Wood (Corey), Jesse and James Mahoney, Brittany MacLaggan (Robert) , Tyler and Jordan Porter as well as Cole and Shane Blacquier; two great grandchildren Owen and Camden as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joan is predeceased by her parents: the late William (Red) Robert and Gertrude (Comfort) Dutcher; brother: John as well as sister: Judy.
A public visitation will be held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi on Saturday, August 1st from 11 AM to 1 PM. A private family funeral service will follow. Burial will take place at the Miramichi Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, in Joan’s memory, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
