John William Hamilton


John William Hamilton, husband of the late Masie (McCafferty) Hamilton of Halcomb, NB, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at the age of 91.
Born in Lyttleton, NB, John was the son of the late Ernest and Susan (Travis) Hamilton. John was retired from Ontario Hydro and was an avid woods worker.
John is survived by six daughters: Anne Hamilton of Pickering, ON, Mary Tozer (Sherman) of Matthew Settlement, NB, Joan Hamilton and Donna Hamilton, both of Toronto, ON, Joanne Hudson (Tim) of Oshawa, ON and Marlene Hillier (Reg) of St. John’s, NL; two sons: Ernest Hamilton (Marion) of Darlings Island, NB and John Hamilton (Shelley) of Toronto, ON; one sister: Margaret Williams (Jack) of Moncton, NB; two brothers: Benny Hamilton (Ruby) of Upper Derby, NB and David Hamilton (Rena) of Napanee, ON; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ernest and Susan (Travis) Hamilton, John is predeceased by three brothers: Ralph, Halsey and Danny as well as son: Mark.
Due to Covid 19, a private family funeral service will be held. Burial will take place in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Boom Road, NB.
As expressions of sympathy, in John’s memory, donations may be made to Palliative Care or the Miramichi SPCA.
