The death of Paul W. McAllister known locally as the “Appleman” of Bryenton, NB occurred peacefully at his home at the age of 81 and surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Earl and Adelaide McAllister. He was a farmer, carpenter, entrepreneur, writer, traveller and dreamer. He was active in a number of organizations over the years especially the local Highland Society and the developments at Wilsons Point. His apple orchard was his lifetime joy and he delighted in welcoming multiple generations to enjoy the fruits of his labours.

Paul is survived by his companion, Alice Riding of Fredericton; three daughters Paula Fraser (David), Krista McAllister (Darren Marshall), Karla Pleadwell (Dean); six grandchildren: Jared, Carrie and Hannah Fraser, Dylan and Cameron Marshall and Jenna Power (Cory); two great granddaughters Ryah and Leah Power; sisters: Joyce Astle (John), Emily Haswell (the late Hugh), Alice Brown (Harold); brother: John McAllister (Nancy) and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Paul is predeceased by wife of 50 years, Sylvia, brother: David McAllister and great granddaughter Ava Power

The family will receive visitors at Bells Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be Saturday, Dec 14 at 11 AM at the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel with Rev Gillis Smith and Colin Holmes officiating. Burial will take place in the Ferguson Grace Cemetery later in the spring.
