Laura Myrtle Hallihan
1932 – 2019

Laura Myrtle Hallihan of Bay du Vin, NB, wife of the late Leo Hallihan passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Friday, December 06, 2019 at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Beatrice (Buckley) MacDonald.

Laura was a school teacher. She loved to cook and was a homemaker at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church rectory. Laura was Roman Catholic and was involved in her church, St. Michael’s by the Sea. She was a member of the church choir, and also taught Catechism for many years.

Laura is survived by one daughter: Karen Hallihan (Royce Aube) of Bushville, NB; three sons: Ron Hallihan (Pam) of Bay du Vin, NB, Kevin Hallihan (Ginette) of Bay du Vin, NB, and Gary Hallihan (Sharon) of Chatham, NB; two sisters: Mary Trites of Sydney, NS and Leona Hallihan (Ivan) of Chatham, NB; seven grandchildren: Michael, Ashley, Christina, Brandon, Shannon, Jordan, and Alanna; four great grandchildren: Rylan, Emery, Alexandra, and Grace, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents: Ronald and Beatrice, Laura is predeceased by her husband Leo.

By Laura’s request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from St. Michael’s by the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi Bay, NB on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Father Dan Bastarache officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring.

As expressions of sympathy, in Laura’s memory donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or New Brunswick Kidney Foundation. Messages of condolence can be sent through our website at
