“I was given the gift of life (June 28, 1937) and now I have to give it back (June 25, 2019). This is hard. But I was a lucky man determined to do it my way. I never thought I’d reach my 60th birthday let alone get this close to my 82nd. I have led a good life and for the most part I think I got it right. I am ready to go. Do not remember me for this date but all the days and nights I have lived the fullest in between, Raise your glass of Botticelli in my honour and toast the wonderful life I lived.”
