It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Winnifred “Winnie” Jardine of Upper Derby, NB on April 16, 2019 in her 98th year. Winnie was predeceased by her husband, Bennie Jardine and was the daughter of the late Alexander Fearon and Muriel (Donald) Parks. She is survived by two sisters, Marion Garland (Ken) Moncton, NB and Roma Benson (David) of Ottawa, ON and predeceased by brothers John Parks (Phyllis) of Miramichi, NB and Boyd (Lois) of Miramichi, NB and one sister Phyllis Johnston (Grant) of Burlington, ON as well as fiancé, Charlie O’Brien of Quarryville, NB. She will sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. A long time teacher, Winnie will be remembered fondly for her kindness towards all.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 1 PM with Wendell Gregan DLM officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mark’s United Cemetery, Quarryville later in the spring.
In Lieu of flowers and in Winnie’s memory a donation may be made to St. Mark’s Cemetery Fund or a memorial of one’s choice.
Winnie was a member of the Miramichi Area Retired Teachers Association (MARTA). At the request of the family, retired teachers are requested to gather prior to the funeral service, Saturday, April 20th, at Bell's Funeral Home Chapel, 651 King George Highway, at 12:30 PM, for designated seating during the service and the formation of an honour guard afterward.
